SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday October 5, 2011
10:00 a.m.
I. Call to Order
Chairman Lords called the meeting to order at 10:04 a.m.
II. Roll Call
Board members present were, Chairman Lords, Vice Chairman, Annette Winchester, Wendy Horman, Kip Nelson, and DeVere
Hunt. Also present were, Deputy Superintendent Bruce Roberts, Assistant Superintendent Marjean McConnell, Principal Rich
Coburn, Deputy Nate Downey, School Resource Officer, Jan Hughes School Counselor, Nicole Hart, School Psychologist,
Board Clerk Valerie Messick, and Doug Nelson, District legal representative.
MOTION: Wendy Horman made the motion to move into executive session for the purpose of holding a hearing regarding
student discipline pursuant to section 67-2345 (1)(b), Idaho Code. Kip Nelson seconded. Roll call vote: DeVere Hunt, yes; Kip
Nelson, yes; Wendy Horman, yes; Annette Winchester, yes; Craig Lords, yes.
III. Executive Session
1. Dr. Roberts made a request to the Board for Prolonged Suspension for student 12-B.
2. Chairman Lords appointed Doug Nelson as Hearing Officer.
3. Mr. Nelson conducted the Expulsion Hearing.
MOTION: Annette Winchester made the motion to move into open session. Kip Nelson seconded. Vote: 5 in favor with 0
opposed and 0 abstentions. Motion passed.
MOTION: DeVere Hunt made the motion to prolong the suspension for student 12-B. Annette Winchester seconded. Vote: 5 in
favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions. Motion passed.
MOTION: DeVere Hunt made the motion to continue the expulsion hearing for student 12-A to a different date and notify the
parents of the date and time of such hearing. Annette Winchester seconded. Vote: 5 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions.
Motion passed.
IV. Adjournment
MOTION: DeVere Hunt made the motion to adjourn at12:01 p.m. Annette Winchester seconded. Vote: 5 in favor with 0 opposed
and 0 abstentions. Motion passed.
